Answer: KOOLIQ is part of the Engineered Foam Products company which specializes in molded foam products used in a variety of applications, mainly focused on impact protection, thermal insulation, and structural stability. We provide bespoke industrial and consumer product solutions across a wide range of industries, markets and consumer channels.

Having worked in many areas of thermal protective solutions over the years, KOOlIQ is our new to market Cold Chain shipping range designed and qualified specifically for the transportation of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Trial markets.

Answer: KOOLIQ provide a range of Thermal Isolating parcel shippers, qualified to the exacting standards of ISTA 7d thermal stress profiles to provide solutions from 48 up to 140 hours qualified passive thermal protection.

KoolIQ is designed not just to provide the thermal protective performance required but to do so with best in class payload efficiency, use of common components and geometries driving simplicity in you logistics operations, and reduced initial investment and parts replacement costs through a focus on designing out unnecessary materials and inefficient re-use or requalification processes.

PGS: Which markets and regions do you primarily operate in, and how do these geographies influence your service capabilities?

Answer: We currently produce KOOLIQ in the UK and support mostly a European customer base but can supply globally as required.

PGS: What differentiates your solutions from others in the industry, and how do you bring value to pharma clients, CROs, and CDMOs?

Answer: KOOLIQ has the benefit of being developed recently using some of the best thermal modeling techniques available. This has allowed us to optimised payload sizes, material use and costs in our design process along with the very high thermal protective performance required in the industry. We believe this has allowed us to design efficiency into the KOOLIQ systems that translates to lowering supply chain costs for its users versus other older market systems that are not optimised from these three driving principles in their evolution.

PGS: What major challenges do you foresee for the pharma and clinical supply chain in the coming years, and how is your organization positioned to support and complement industry needs?

Answer: Lower cost, secure and environmentally sustainable cold chain logistics solutions are a key challenge. Re-usability reduces material waste but adds other costs of asset re qualification, recover and system loss.
KOOLIQ offers a range of prequalified cold chain shippers that lower the asset costs to deploy re-use solutions, simplifies requalification processes within the supply chain with free and open process support, and has modular designs allowing for efficient and low costs, easy assembled, component replacements.

PGS: How do you see the future of clinical research, logistics, and pharma operations evolving, and what role does your organization aim to play in shaping this future?

Answer: Future growth in clinical studies and of complex supply chains from increasingly individualised treatments will drive a greater need for efficient and effective cold chain distribution solutions. KOOLIQ can be part of that solution balancing performance, costs and efficiency on the journey from clinical studies through to complex commercial end user distribution of our clients pharmaceutical compounds.

Answer: You can think of N-SIDE as a company of problem-solvers for very complex challenges. We started in Belgium back in 2000 and specialize in using advanced mathematical optimization and artificial intelligence to tackle industry problems. Currently, our main area of focus is the clinical supply chain, but we are also present in the energy industry, where we help power grid operators and energy markets navigate the transition to renewable energy and manage complex operations.

Answer: Our business operations span Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region. We work with over 50 biopharma in more than 20 countries. As customer support is part of our trademark, we have offices right where our customers are: headquarters in Belgium, offices in the USA (Cambridge, MA) and Japan (Tokyo).

Answer: We are differentiated by 25 years of experience and continuous iterations on our forecasting and planning solutions. Our solutions help make sense of all of these events, and propose CTS plans that cover the constraints, while ensuring no missed visits and lower waste.

We help companies build a resilient supply chain that’s ready for multiple futures (moving from being “reactive” to “proactive”). Answer: Due to the challenges mentioned before, clinical supply has shifted from being an operational, execution, role to a more strategic enabler. From a small cost center, to an area that now catches leadership’s eye. Due to this, CTS is thankfully blessed by a lot of innovation recently.
